Leili and Majnoon (1188), a Persian Romeo and Juliet, is the third poem of the Khamsa written by Nizami Ganjavi. Leili's thoughts were always about Majnoon, and she wanted to see how he was. At the upper left of the graphic, a messenger informs Majnoon of the plan to meet in a thicket near Leili's camp, shown on the lower right. Majnoon holds a book of his poems, which he plans to read to her.

 

15 inches in height and 16 inches wide

 

The graphic vessel is handcrafted and kiln fired three times.
